The town of Cleethorpes is located on the estuary of the River Humber in North East Lincolnshire. North of Mablethorpe, Chapel St Leonards and Skegness, south of Grimsby and Hull.

There is plenty to do for holiday makers and day visitors with regular bus and railway services to the neighbouring towns. Cleethorpes Pier is situated on the seafront. It first opened in 1873 and the promenade which opened in 1885. Very close to the pier and next to the Coast Guard on Central Promenade, there is a Royal National Lifeboat Institution Station.
